Christina Ellen Zimmerman, lovingly known as Cris and, in the 70’s by her CB radio handle “Pooh Bear,” passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at her home in Clifton, Colorado. She was born on March 14, 1951, in Santa Ana, California.
Cris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Zimmerman, and her sister Donna. She is survived by her son, James Zimmerman II (Summer), and her daughter, Kathryn Keaney (Matthew), along with her treasured grandchildren, Quintin and Layla Keaney, and her siblings Tom, Annie, and Mary.
She spent her career dedicated to the legal profession as a trusted legal secretary, where her diligence and professionalism left a lasting impression. Outside of work, Cris embraced life with joy and creativity. She was a gifted artist and a passionate gardener who cultivated beauty both inside and outside her home. She loved time outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and riding on the Harley with Jim making memories on the open road. Cris also cherished her weekly rhythms - lunch with her friends on Tuesdays, playing Native American flute with her group on Wednesdays, and enjoying her favorite margaritas at Dos Hombres on Thursdays.
Cris found deep connection through her studies of shamanism, energy work, visualization, and meditation. She carried these practices into her daily life, radiating peace, compassion, and light. Those who knew her will remember her for her kind heart, gentle presence, and the unconditional love she shared so freely.
And when her journey here was complete, her soulmate waited “patiently" by the gates of eternity to walk her home. Her light remains with us, a peaceful energy that will forever guide and shine through the hearts she touched.
A service to honor Cris’s life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
