November 5, 1962 – November 7, 2025
Diana O. Mattuzzi, a woman whose adventurous spirit and sharp mind touched everyone around her, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 7, 2025. She was a resident of Fruita, Colorado and loved the western desert.
Born to Father Luciano and Mona Mattuzzi in Rochester, NY, Diana brought curiosity and courage into every corner of her life. A proud Navy veteran and graduate of the Empire State College, she poured her heart into her passion for coding and her work as a software engineer. Diana loved the challenge of solving problems—whether it was debugging code or fixing something with a bit of duct tape and determination.
Her joy for life extended well beyond her career. She was happiest with the wind in her hair—sailing on open water, riding her mountain bike down a sunlit path, or taking off on her motorcycle in search of the next horizon. Above all, Diana cherished time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow and explore the world with the same spark she carried all her life.
Diana is predeceased by her father Luciano Mattuzzi. She is survived by her loving mother, Mona Mattuzzi; her brother, Jim Mattuzzi (Barbara Mattuzzi); sister, Gina O’Dell (Scott O’Dell); her daughters, Stephanie Berg and Dana Berg; her beloved grandchildren, Gunnar and Gemma Hellman; nieces Michelle Mattuzzi, Jackie O’Dell and nephew Jeremy O’Dell, amongst many other friends and extended family.
Per Diana’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, her family asks that you honor her memory by carrying her adventurous spirit forward—take that trip, try something new, or simply find joy in the small moments each day.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family via GoFundMe to support end-of-life expenses and her grandchildren’s college funds.
Fair winds and following seas, Diana—you’ll always be with us on every new adventure.
