She was born to Harry Nourse and Sarah Poole on April 10, 1930 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She enjoyed her job as a lifeguard, where she met her first husband, and loved acting in school productions. After graduating from high school, Dee married Wilbur Weir and they moved to Leadville, Colorado. While living in Leadville they had twins Ciree and Cristee (both deceased) followed by Clarissa. After moving to Denver they completed their family with son Adam. Later divorced, she married Jack Mitchell.
Dee was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked tirelessly on her family genealogy. She had a large collection of phone books that friends and family would send from across the US. She would comb the phone books for all the family surnames, then send them a family group sheet to fill out and return to see how they might be related. She marveled in recent years how technology has made family history research so easy!
She is survived by her brother, Richard (Debi) Nourse, Daughter Clarissa Weir, son Adam (Ori), step-son, Mark Mitchell, 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Vincent Nourse, daughters Ciree Weir and Cristee Wagner and her beloved husband Jack.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 pm on November 15, 2021 at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens, Colorado where she will be laid to rest next to her parents. Her husband’s remains will also be laid to rest at that time.
