Doris Lorraine Howard

June 16, 1934 - June 26, 2014

Doris H. Howard, 80, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away June 26, 2014, at Palisades Living Center.

Doris was born and raised in Beaumont, TX, graduating from high school in 1952, and the University of Houston in 1956, with a Nursing degree. After graduation she worked at Houston Methodist Hospital and then the Texaco refinery in Port Arthur, TX as a visiting nurse. While working at Texaco she met and married Adrian H. ""Bill"" Howard on June 15, 1962. In 1967, they moved to Saudi Arabia where they created wonderful lifelong friendships and worldwide memories. They also lived in Oklahoma, Alabama, and Kansas.

Doris enjoyed contributing to church and community projects, especially cookbooks. Her other interests included: baking, cooking, bowling, and genealogy.

Doris is survived by her husband, Adrian; daughters, Beth (Todd) Reynolds of Brighton, CO, and Janet (Ross) Harrell of Palisade, CO; grandchildren, Liam and Haydon Harrell and Conner Reynolds.

Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction on July 25th at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeWest Hospice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to HopeWest for making her final days comfortable.
