Dorothy Adele Ruth, age 77, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Born on August 10, 1946, in Denver, Colorado, Dorothy was the daughter of Milton Wood and Henrietta Wood (Bode). She spent her childhood at Corral Creek Ranch and graduated from Middle Park High School. Dorothy went on to attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Vocational Education with an emphasis in Home Economics.
A devoted member of First Christian Church, PEO, and NEA, Dorothy had a diverse career as a teacher, secretary, and homemaker. Her passion for sewing and crafting was evident in her quilting and knitting projects. Always creative, Dorothy was also dedicated to advancing women's education through her involvement with PEO.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Robert Ruth; her son, Robert Douglas Ruth; her brothers, Robert Wood, Leonard Wood, Harold Wood, and Eugene Wood; and two grandchildren.
