Edumenia I. Barrazza, September 4, 1929 to July 20, 2022. Edumenia was born to Tito and Antonia Trujillo in Youngsville, New Mexico. She married Elifar Serrano in 1945. Through that union they had nine children. Jimmie Serrano (Stella), Lee Serrrano, Eddie Serrano, Priscilla Trujillo (Harry), Lorraine Crespin (Paul), Elma Otero (Ralph), Lucy Serrano Aragon (David), and Ronnie Victor Serrano (Dorothy). She later married Soccoro Barraza and they were together for more than 20 years.
After raising her children, Edumenia pursued a degree in nursing and graduated from Mesa State College. She was a nurse for over 40 years. She worked for St. Mary’s Hospital, Mesa Manor, and retired from Family Health West. She loved attending dances and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and “telling it like it is”.
Edumenia had eight siblings: Ida Serrano (Joe), Lila Marrieta (Jesus), Gloria Gallegos, Manuelita Gutierrez (Frank), Joe Trujillo, John Trujillo (Patty), Frank Trujillo, and Carolyn Lobato (Leland).
Edumenia had 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Socorro, siblings; Ida, Gloria, Frank, and Joe, children; Victor Ronnie, Son-in-Law Harry, Daughter-in Law Stella, and grandson Cisco.
All services will be held at Fruita Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1210 17 ½ Road, Fruita, Co. A viewing will be held at 6:00 pm with a Rosary following at 7pm on Sunday, July 24th. The funeral services will be held Monday, July 25th at 10:30 am.
