Erwin Whittier Pearson of Fruita passed away peacefully at the age of 83. He was born in Plymouth, New Hampshire and received a B.S. Degree at the University of New Hampshire and a M.S. Degree at the University of Massachusetts, in Forestry and Wildlife Management. He enjoyed a 41 year career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service in Denver. He was an Army/Air Force veteran.
Bud was a life member of the Wildlife Society, Audubon Society and NRA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching and being outdoors. After retiring to Fruita, he volunteered with the Museum of Western Colorado overseeing Dinosaur Hill, and the Colorado Division of Wildlife working with birds and the Bat/Inactive Mine Program.
He was a beloved father, husband and grandfather. As his son, I never forget his guidance and wisdom in the art of being an exceptional human being. He will be dearly missed by all that he met, but his spirit and goodness will never be forgotten. He is loved and held in the hearts of all his family.
Bud is survived by his wife, Connie, two sons; Andy and Brian, granddaughter; Savannah, grandson; Dylan Dalzotto, his brother David and a sister Linda Pearson. He was preceded in death by his brother Dana and a sister Janice Shepard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090 N 12th Street Suite B, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Dinosaur Journey Museum, 550 Jurassic Court, Fruita, CO 81521.
