Faye was born on July 17, 1958, in Panguitch, Utah, to Lincoln Lyman and Rolain Alvey. She was raised in Escalante and lived there until she met and married Gene Sandefer. After they were married, Faye and Gene had the opportunity to live in many different places as Gene worked in the oil field, but they returned home to Escalante in 1986, where Faye resided until her death.
Faye was a hard worker, holding various jobs throughout her life. Most of her career was with South Central Communications as a Collections Specialist. Not a role most would want, but she was very good at it and often talked about the people she was able to meet and help. She formed lifelong friendships with her co-workers and built memories along the way. Faye had many friends outside of work, near and far, and those relationships meant the world to her.
Faye loved home. In the spring and summer, you could find her working in her yard, building flower beds, planting trees, or just enjoying ice cream on the back porch. In recent years, she began decorating for all the seasons and very much enjoyed trips to Hobby Lobby or the Home Store. Faye was a great mom, but her true joy was her grandkids, and she spent as much time with them as she could. There will not be a day she is not missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
Faye is survived by her children, Brandy (Jason), Ty (Tanille), and Brittany; grandchildren, Bella, Keara, Gracee, and Oaklee; Mother, Rolain Alvey; sisters, Danna, Gwen (Don); brothers Richard (Debi), Kim (Reene), sister-in-law Lisa, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her dad, Lincoln; brothers, Lincoln Wade, Tyler, and Gaden; sister Ruth; and brother-in-law Darrell Alvey.
Visitation will be held at Callahan-Edfsat Mortuary in Grand Junction, CO, on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 3-6 PM
