Florence B. Schroeder

Flo was born in Waukegan, Illinois. She was the daughter of Van Burris and Florence Jenkinson. She passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side at HopeWest Care Center. Flo enjoyed seven years living at the Fountains prior to her passing, four of those were with her beloved caregiver, Sofia Duarte.

She graduated from Lake Forest High School in Lake Forest, Illinois and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. This is where she received her Nursing degree.

Flo married Bruce Conover in December 1948, this ended in 1971. She then married Albert Schroeder in June 1974 and was married till his death in 1995.

She is survived by children, Kathleen (Michael) Craig of Campbell, CA, Bruce (Debbie) Conover of Manhattan Beach, CA, Albert Conover of Windsor, CO, Nancy (Scott) Rafferty of Grand Junction, CO, and William (Amy) Conover of Purcellville, VA; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Flo worked in the nursing profession over 40 years in 5 states. She moved to Grand Junction in 1998 to be closer to family. Flo volunteered at Rose Hill Hospitality House for a few years, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, CO.

She love to travel abroad and did many trips with her husband, Albert. Flo also loved to sew and do crafts. Her signature dish in the kitchen was corned beef and cabbage.

A service in her honor will be held on June 5, 2021 at 11:30 AM at First United Methodist Church, 522 White Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
