

He is survived by three sons, Tom of Parachute, Brad of Grand Junction and Mike of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Tamra Candelaria of Durango and Tanya Tompkins of McMinnville, Oregon; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Forrest Edwin Tompkins, age 91, of Fruita, passed away August 30, 2015, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Forrest was born in Leeton, Missouri on March 29, 1924. He graduated from Fruita Union H.S. in 1942 and enlisted in the Army in 1943. A World War II Veteran, he returned to Fruita to work at Fleet Service and Pabco until his retirement in 1986.
Forrest was married to Myrtle Tompkins for over 62 years until her death in 2013. Forrest is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Cora; brothers Ray and Earl; sisters, Millie Santangelo and Hazel Carlone; and his first baby daughter, Sheriyln Kay.
He is survived by his three sons (and spouses): Tom Tompkins; Brad and Kaylynn Tompkins; Mike Tompkins and Bruce Palenske, and two daughters (spouses), Tamra and Shawn Candelaria; Tanya Tompkins and Sal Peralta; along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
A private memorial was held Monday, August 31st.
