He is survived by his wife, Linda; three sons, Brad of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Brian of Northglenn and Chris of Whitewater; a daughter, Jill of Centennial; and four grandchildren.

Fred Phillips

December 19, 1930 - January 19, 2015

Fred was born December 19th, 1939, in Longmont, Colorado to Howard and Maudie Phillips where he was raised and attended school. Fred was active in sports and 4-H. In 1960 he married his high school sweetheart, Berta Edwards. To this union three children was born, Brad, Brian and Jill. This marriage ended in divorce.

In 1971, mutual friends in Longmont introduced Fred to the love of his life, Linda. IBM transferred Fred to South Bend, Indiana where Fred and Linda were married in 1972. With this marriage another son, Chris, was added to the family.

In 1988, Fred completed 20 years with IBM and with their children grown Linda and Fred made the decision to return to Colorado to be near family and start a new phase of their life. After checking out the Front Range they decided the western slope and Mesa County best suited their life style. Fred worked for a variety of businesses and met a lot of great people.

Fred had two hobbies that he was passionate about, one raising quality dairy goats and later in life collecting miniature native American and Mexican (Mata Ortiz) pottery. As his health declined he enjoyed researching pottery and potters.

Fred leaves behind his wife, Linda and his children, Brad (Connie) of Las Cruces, NM; Brian of Northglenn, CO; Jill of Centennial, CO, and Chris of Whitewater, CO. Fred also leaves four grandchildren, Zach, Jordan, Sarah and A.J.

Fred would like to thank those in the medical field including HopeWest Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, Foresight Family Physicians, and his hospice nurse, Mary, for the time and care he received.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at a later date.
