Gary was the oldest of six children with half-siblings: Jim, Anna, Marty, Dante, and Phil.
Gary graduated from Hazel Park High School and went on to graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
Gary worked from driving a truck for Kinnie Annex to operations manager of Kilsby Roberts and Timberline Steel, back to a truck driver for Long Trucking
Gary loved reading, cooking, gardening, canning, and talking with people.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy, and two sons, Jason and Mark.
Donations to Kid’s Aid Backpack Program at 2978 Gunnison Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81504 would be appreciated. Services are being handled by Callahan Edfast Funeral Home. Mass and final resting will be at Sacred Heart Church, 1210 17-1/2 Road, Fruita, CO on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with 9:30 Rosary, 10:30 Mass, 11:30 Interment, and 12:00 meal at the church. All are welcome to attend.
