There is much to say, so much to share about this wonderful woman - a daughter, sister, wife,
mother, aunt, friend, leader in her community, and above all an example of how to live life to its
fullest - with her will to not just survive, but to thrive even in the face of adversity.

Genevieve Beck has gone to be with her Lord at the age of 97, nearly 98. On the day of her
passing, March 22, 2021, Genny was at HopeWest Center in Grand Junction, CO.
She was born and raised on a farm in Cedarville, Ohio, the fifth child of Burt and Lucy Turner's
6 children. A few months after graduating from Cedarville High School in 1941 she met the
man of her dreams Fred Beck whom she married on June 15,1943. They had 4 children and
raised them together in the small village of Clifton, Ohio where Fred and Genny lived for 35
years. In 1984 the couple moved to Grand Junction, CO where they both had long dreamed of
living out their retirement years. It was there that Fred passed away in their home May 18,
1989 after Genny had provided the special loving care Fred required throughout the 30 years
they dealt with his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
Genny enjoyed a long rich life and seemed to always be busy with her favorite activities like
cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting, camping, traveling, Pinochle, volunteering, and Church.
She is survived by her four children Beverly (John) Colvin of Grand Junction, CO, Bonnie (John)
Sarkett of Winnetka, IL, Barry Fred (Margaret) Beck of Casey, IA, Betsy Beck (Michael)
McChesney of St. George, UT, and her 9 grandchildren Brian Colvin, Lanell (Colvin) Shen,

Those we love can never be
More than a thought away,
For as long as there’s a memory
They live in our hearts to stay.
