

Ms. Watkins was a homemaker and music teacher, and played the flute in the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.
She is survived by two sons, George of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and David of Steamboat Springs; two daughters, Carol Sperber of Grand Junction and Marla Watkins of Denver; and two grandchildren.

Georgia Ann Watkins passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, at Larchwood Inns. She was 87 years old.
Georgia was born July 9, 1928, in Grand Junction. She was the daughter of George and Emma Kister. Georgia attended Grand Junction High School and Mesa Junior College. She married Raymond Watkins in August of 1947.
Georgia played flute in the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra for over 50 years. She taught flute for many years to students of all ages from grade school through college. She collected flute-playing figurines and had a collection of over 800. She also enjoyed baking cookies and gardening. Georgia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, PEO, Chapter N.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, and her sister, Grace Kabele. She is survived by her children, sons, George (Evelyn) Watkins of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and David Watkins of Steamboat Springs; daughters, Carol (Jim) Sperber of Grand Junction, and Marla Watkins of Denver. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Ryan Watkins of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Elizabeth Watkins Brookmeyer of Steamboat Springs.
A private family memorial will be held.
