

Gregory Shane Wareham, age 61, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Grand Junction. Shane, as he went by, was born on September 22, 1963 in Grand Junction, to George W and LeAnna (Swarnes) Wareham. Before living in Grand Junction for a year, Shane lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, Layton, Utah, and Moab, Utah. He spent his childhood at Gateway, Colorado, and Moab, Utah, where he graduated from high school and then attended the Salt Lake Commuity College/Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Shane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a welder, mechanic and a ranch hand.
Shane loved the outdoors and hunting, fishing and camping. He was very knowledgable about all things in nature. He was very talented and could fix just about anything. Shane was a amazing welder and made metal art. He loved little kids but was only blessed with one child, Chisholm Wareham, who preceded him in death. Shane battled a lifelong addiction to alcohol and had many DUI's and many incarcerations because of those offenses. He never won the battle with his addiction. Shane had a very close relationship with his step-dad, Frank Profaizer.
Shane is survived by his parents, Frank and LeAnna Profaizer of Malad, Idaho; brothers, Curtis Wareham (Danna) of Green River, Utah, Jason Wareham of Grand Junction, Colorado, Jared Profaizer (Tara) of Willard, Utah, and Joshua Profaizer (Becky) of Malad, Idaho; sisters, Tana Crossen (Jack) of Hooper, Utah, Honey Kesler (Casey) of Grantsville, Utah and Brandi Moss (Brandon) of Malad, Idaho. His son, Chrisholm Wareham; brother, Travis Wareham and Father, George Wareham preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on September 22, 2025 in Windy Swale, Colorado.
