Guy Douglas Koenig

September 29, 1952 - August 26, 2017

Guy Douglas Koenig, 64, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on August 26th at St. Mary's Hospital.

Guy was born on September 29, 1952, in Rapid City, South Dakota to Eugene and Mary Koenig.

Guy is survived by his loving children, Billie Koenig, Shannon Key, Guy (Julie) Koenig, Troy (Erica) Koenig, Nicki Folkens, Lacee (Matt) Kasten, and Skyler Koenig; 11 grandchildren, Kenzi, Karsyn, Tanner, Meg, Joey, Kinsley, Kate, Quinn, Kellen, Declan, and McKoy; siblings, Greg (Bev) Koenig, Terry (Renae) Koenig, and Sheryl (Ron) Mack, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Guy was a leader and a true friend that will be remembered for his unparalleled work ethic, generosity and compassion. Recently retired from Elkhorn Construction where he was a long time superintendent, Guy continued to offer a helping hand to friends, family, and often complete strangers. Always quick with a joke or prank to entertain, he loved to spend time with family, watch sports including his beloved New Orleans Saints, and ride his custom Harley Davidson motorcycle.

A celebration of his life will be held will be held on September 15, at Callahan-Edfast Funeral Home, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, Colorado at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations, in Guy's honor, be given to St. Mary' s Hospital & Regional Medical Center at 2635 N. 7th St., Grand Junction, CO 81501.
