Jim was born in Soldier Summit, UT, moving to Grand Junction in 1936, and graduating from Grand Junction High School in 1946. From August of 1944 through June of 1953 Jim served in the US Navy as a Radar Tech on AO/AO-21 USS Tippecanoe and CV40 USS Tarawa. He married Marie Therese Guibert in October of 1953 living and working in the Silicon Valley, CA. After retiring they moved back to Grand Junction in 1987. Following Marie's death Jim remarried in July of 1993 to Lois Hooker-Coon. They were married until her death on July 9, 2004. Jim was a world traveler, avid Rockies fan and life long coin collector.
He is survived by three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Come celebrate his life with us on August 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at 585 W. Conistoga Cir., Clifton.
