James Wesley Mackley

Mr. Mackley was a banker.

He is survived by his wife, Myrlis; one son, James F. of Grand Junction; one brother, Arnold of Colorado; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James ""Jim"" Wesley Mackley

February 28, 1926 - August 4, 2015

Jim, age 89, died August 4, 2015, in Grand Junction.

Jim was born in Grand Junction on February 28, 1926, to Walter and Agnes Mackley.

Jim attended local schools, graduating from Fruitvale High School in 1944. He joined the US Army Air Force, serving in WWII. He attended Mesa Junior College and numerous schools of banking.

He married Myrlis Fowler on June 18, 1950. They had two sons. Jim had a career in banking that spanned more than seven decades; he was affiliated with Grand Valley Bank up until his time of death.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Grand Junction Rotary for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrlis; son, James F. (Elaine); two grandchildren, Sarah (Julian) and Adam, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Arnold (Darleen) of Rifle and numerous nieces, and nephews. A son, Mark, preceded him in death.
