Mr. James Darrell Vesely

James Darrell Vesely, age 84, of Fruita passed away on January 29, 2021. Darrell was born to Frank and Ada Mabel (McPherson) Vesely on December 13, 1936 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He grew up in Steamboat Springs and Craig, Colorado and went to Moffat County High School in Craig.

Eventually he would meet the love of his life, Frankie Rose Dietrich, and they were married on June 4th, 1955 in Craig. Darrell was a natural born driver and that carried into his career of driving fuel trucks for Farmland Industries. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and building model trucks.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Frankie Vesely; parents, Frank and Mabel; daughter, Fleta Yvonne Crumpton; and two grandchildren, Rose Yvonne Crumpton and Robert James Brown.

He will be deeply missed by his sons, Kenneth Darrell Vesely, Dale Franklin Vesely, Bruce Lee Vesely; daughters, Valeta Yvette Brown, Vicki Jo Ann Wade, Valerie Verlene Everhart; brother, Robert Darwin Vesely; sisters, Donna Mae Stewart and Delores Laverne Coleman; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and other friends and family.

A family funeral service will be held at Callahan Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road – Grand Junction, on Thursday, February 4th, at 11:30 am. James will be laid to rest at New Elmwood Cemetery, 1175 17 ¼ Road – Fruita, immediately following the service.
