Jeanette Ellis

Jeanette Ellis, 75, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Born on October 21, 1949, to Manuel and Eleanor “Virginia” Schlauger, Jeanette was one of five siblings—Carol, Kathleen, David and Alan.

She grew up in Colorado and graduated from Montrose High School. Over the years, she spent the majority of her time in Montrose and Grand Junction. She loved the simple joys of the Western Slope region - none more than Palisade peaches, which she looked forward to every summer.

Jeanette was married to Robert Ellis on August 23, 1970, and together they built a family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.. Her conviction and faith will be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Ellis; daughters Hilary Soria and Jessica Stutz; grandchildren Cassidy Ellis, Chloe Stutz, Claire Soria, and Wesley Stutz; and great-grandchildren Jocelyn Ellis and Mackinley Funk. Jeanette is also survived by her siblings Carol Dean, Kathleen Watts, and Alan Schlauger.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hope West Hospice, Columbine Caregivers and La Villa Grande Care Center for their compassionate care during Jeanette’s final days.

Her memory will live on in those who loved her.
