Jo Ann Albertson was born in Parshall, Colorado, on July 4th, 1934, to Vinton and Virginia Milner. Jo Ann passed away peacefully at The Fountains of Hilltop in Grand Junction, CO on April 11th, 2026. She was 91 years old. She spent her early years on a ranch along Williams Fork River, south of Parshall, where the rhythms of rural life shaped her strength and kindness.
She graduated from Kremmling Union High School and went on to attend Colorado A&M, where she met Frank Albertson, the love of her life. They were married on December 27, 1953. After Frank’s graduation, they built a life together across three cherished homes: the family ranch in Burns, Colorado; a ranch in Nine Mile Canyon, Utah; and later, a farm near Fruita, where they settled and raised their family.
For nearly 40 years, she served as a school bus driver for District 51, transporting children in the Fruita and Appleton areas with a warm smile. Above all, she was devoted to her family. She and Frank spent summers working side by side on the Ranch, building a life rooted in hard work, faith, and the joy of being together.
She is survived by her three children: Kim (Debbie) Albertson, Teri Lynch (Larry), and Jelaine Wahlert (Kevin); six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Frank, brothers William and Robert Milner, granddaughter Ryann Wahlert, and great-grandson Jacob Kujala.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 24, at 2:00 PM at Stillwater Cowboy Church, located at 968 19 Rd, Fruita, CO 81521.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest, 3090 N. 12th St., Grand Junction, CO 81506.
