Joe was born to Abel Garcia and Matilda Gomez in Rangely, Colorado, April 29, 1928. Joe spent a good part of his childhood around Ouray and Fruita, Colorado. He was a Fruita, High school graduate. Joe married the love of his life, Velma Garcia (Kinder). Joe was the owner of the Colorado West Tire Co the downtown Goodyear store and Buggy Bath Car Wash. Joe liked to bowl, liked fishing, traveling, watching the Broncos and spending time with his grandchildren.
He has two daughters Joyce Oleary and Joann Coleman both of Grand Junction, Colorado. Joe had 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Abel and Matilda Garcia, his wife, Velma Kinder Garcia, and sisters Eva Rich of Fruita, Ruby Rodriquez of Denver, Fay Muir, and Dylan Coleman.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Orchard Mesa Cemetery @1:00 PM.
