Jack and Mary K. lived a remarkable life together - full of adventure that comes with a career in the U.S. Navy and building a family of eight children.
Mary K. was born in Carrington, North Dakota on June 30, 1922. She was raised in Mankato, Minnesota. In 1944, she enlisted in the Coast Guard as a Communications Specialist. She met Jack shortly after the end of WW-II - on New Year's Eve 1948.
Jack was born in Mexico City, Mexico on February 8, 1924. He was raised in Mexico and in the hard-rock mining towns in California and Montana. In June 1942, Jack joined the U.S. Navy. As a Radar-man 3RD Class, he shipped out on the USS Feland for Wellington, New Zealand. In late 1943, he was given a Fleet Appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy - graduating in June 1948.
Jack and Mary K. were married on June 28, 1949, at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Mankato.
Together, with their eight children, Jack and Mary K. lived a life of full of adventure, family, and friends.
Jack passed away on September 28, 2014. Mary K. joined him on October 30, 2014. They remain within us all and will be together with God for eternity.
A memorial service for this incredible couple will be held on March 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grand Junction, CO.
