Mr. Joseph W. Olt

Joe passed away at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado on March 19, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in New York, New York to Joseph W. Olt Sr. and Bernice Capka Olt on September 1, 1945. He proudly served his country as a Navy Seal from 1966- 1970. He lived in Cortez for many years and was elected Montezuma County DA from 2001- 2005. He was a practicing attorney in Grand Junction at the time of his passing. Joe was a member of Mesa Lodge 55 and was raised to a Master Mason on December 14, 2006. He also served as Master Mason of the lodge in 2010. Joe was an avid IDPA shooter and donated many hours of his time to the sport. Joe leaves behind his wife Debra, one son, three daughters their husbands and seven grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends. A graveside service with full military and Masonic honors will be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 3:00 P.M..
