Judith Anne Elder

Judith Anne (Judy) Elder passed away peacefully, holding Howard’s hand on Saturday, November 29th, in Grand Junction, Colorado at the age of 75. She leaves behind a beloved husband of 57 years, Howard, her loving son, Doug and his wife Jan, of Durango, CO and her two grandsons, Nick, of Durango, CO and Darren. Sister to June Stephens, of Colorado Springs and brother to Jim Simpson, also of Colorado Springs. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Simpson.

Judy was born in Delta, CO on December 4, 1938 to Evelena and Gordan Crist and enjoyed a good childhood in Delta. During high school she moved to Uravan and graduated from Nucla High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Howard.

Judy worked as a bookkeeper for Roy’s Booking and later opened her own bookkeeping business. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who worried too much, who always enjoyed a good joke and her loving advice to her two grandsons. She will be sadly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held on December 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Nucla, CO. Lunch will be served.
