Grandpa, I will miss the jokes you always texted me to put a smile on my face. I’ll miss the motorcycle rides feeling like the coolest kid getting picked up from school. I’ll miss the ice cream runs to make our days better. I’ll miss you more than you even know. We will be together again I just wish it wasn’t so soon. I love you grandpa. I’m proud to be one of your favorite granddaughters with the initials AGD

Lee Mohrman, my father-in-law. He was just a huge teddy bear in many ways and a true good person. He accepted me into his family as if I was just one of his own and always treated me like a son. He also accepted Aislynn as one of his own and always made special time for her as his granddaughter. I will never forget the goofy cocked smile he had and how he always found a smile in everything that we did. He and I always found humor in most situations that was presented to us. I will miss his laugh and his jokes that he always had. I know that he is telling his dad jokes to anyone that will listen and always smiling. I love you Lee!!

Dad – I miss you so much!! My favorite childhood memories will always be getting to go to work with you as a kid. I remember singing to the radio and acting goofy in the car on those trips. They were also the best trips because you always made sure we got to go somewhere cool for lunch. I will miss you calling me your guardian angel and the big bear hugs that came with it. I will miss sending “dad Jokes” or “Puns of the Day” texts and knowing that we both would be laughing at what each other wrote. I will truly miss your laugh as it made you unique. You always put a smile on my face and made me feel special every day and I am so thankful that you were my daddy. I love you!

Dad - though you have left a void in our hearts with your passing I know deep down that your legacy and your unconditional love for us will live on in my heart and everyone else’s who had the wonderful opportunity to know and love you. 

This week has given me great insight into how much you were truly loved. From the pictures that told your story, to the comforting words of your friends and loved ones, to your own grandchildren's insight into why they loved their sweet and silly grandfather. Though heartbreaking, it gives me great comfort to know that you made a difference in this world. Many times this week I heard how people will miss your memorable laugh, your funny jokes, and the way you could make people smile. It didn’t matter if you were at the bank or the grocery store….you made people feel loved and cared for. 

Most importantly Dad…thank you for loving me, always saying how proud you were of your girls, and loving mom the way you did. My best memories during childhood was when I could bring pretty much anything to you and you could fix it for me. You were quite the handyman. Now, I am just wondering how you can fix my broken heart? I am not sure how that will happen…..Other than knowing that you are at peace, you are surrounded by pure love, and that you are with your heavenly family now. I am not ready to say goodbye Dad but I can say and do believe that I will, “See you later”.

I could always find Lee in a crowd by his one of a kind laugh. He had a good sense of humor and the ability to crack jokes with the best of them. In fact, he could and would strike up conversations with people wherever we went and before it was over he had them chuckling.

Being grandchildren has given us the privilege to experience, learn, grow, and laugh with our one of a kind grandpa. We will always remember his funny jokes, his Jurassic Park t-shirt, and his loving heart. One memory that will live along with us forever was when we went camping and went fishing. One time while we were fishing, Grandpa was grabbing things from the cabin. He came down to the lake on his motorcycle but before he got there we heard him yell in a loud voice….”NANCY”. Brady was the first one up to the road. At first Brady thought he had hooked Grandpa when he was swinging his fishing rod. Turns out that Grandpa had fallen off his motorcycle and cut his head. We remember him saying, “And this is why you always wear a helmet.” This was a great life lesson for us and from then on we have always worn our helmets. 
Our one of a kind Grandpa will live with us through thick and thin in our hearts. And someday we hope to reunite with our amazing Grandpa.

Lee, I first met you in 2007, the year that I met your beautiful daughter Katie. I’d first like to say, “Thank you Lee”, for raising an amazing woman in Katie. I’d also like to say, “Thank you”, for giving me the amazing privilege to share my life with Katie as my wife. In return, I am so happy that we were able to provide you with life’s ultimate joy of two amazing grandchildren in Addyson and Brady. 

Lee, they love Grandpa so much, they will miss you dearly. You will always be in their hearts. They will always have such fond memories of you and Grandma taking them camping and fishing. You experienced with them and taught them, things that I may never have done, and we are very thankful for those wonderful times you shared with them. They loved calling me from Grand Junction to tell me about Grandpa driving them on the ATV, how many fish they caught and of course how many mosquito bites they got on that one camping trip. 

Lee, although our driving distance may have kept us from getting together as often as we all would have liked, the times spent together over the years will never be forgotten. Lee, what resonates most for me with our commonalities, is our mutual love and loyalty for family, our mutual fine taste in classic rock music, our love, liberty and loyalty for our country and our freedoms. I always enjoyed our text exchanges. Until we meet again Sir!

My brother, Lee, was one of the funniest guys I have ever known. It’s truly unfortunate that he couldn’t muster the nerve to stand up in front of an audience, because he would have made a lot of money as a comedian. And his laugh! Oh, how I will miss hearing that joyful laugh!
But more importantly than my brother’s humor was his big heart and love for others. Lee would literally give the shirt off his back for a complete stranger who needed it. There were plenty of times I would call him to request help doing a project for mom, or Ronnie and I were doing a project that required a certain tool, truck, or trailer, and he would immediately drop what he was doing and not only bring us the tool we needed but would stay and help us accomplish our task.
I have many wonderful memories of us from our childhood; good and not so good! He made a deal with me when he got his driver’s license, that if I would do the maintenance on his vehicle, like change a flat tire, or the oil and filter when needed, etc., he would tote me around with him and his friends or take me to activities I wanted to do. It was a good deal that prepared me for when I was out in a car of my own. My brother was quite the prankster too. He had purchased a rubber snake, a BIG snake, that looked very real. Mom being afraid of snakes, told Lee he had better not ever leave the snake just laying around the house. If he wasn’t playing with it, the snake needed to be in his room. One particular morning, Lee was looking for his snake and couldn’t find it anywhere. After a very long search, he finally looked in the trash can and found it inside, chopped into little pieces. The story is, our dad had gotten up in the middle of the night and stepped on it in the dark, no doubt scaring him. Daddy never said a word about it and Lee was smart enough not to ask!
Our family took many wonderful trips to Lake Powell. One trip our parents had reminded us that the scorpions were especially bad that year and 

Dear Pammie   I always knew how much you loved your brother and I truly regret I never got to meet him.  All those wonderful letters at the service today really highlighted what a wonderful loving person he was.  The sadness you know today will be replaced with good memories and the joy of having had him in your life.  Even through your tears of missing him, you can still laugh and smile with or at him again.   God Bless You and all of your family.  Love Clint and Colleen

As a long time friend of Katie, I was fortunate enough to spend time with Lee and the beautiful family he and Nancy built. One of my fondest memories came when Lee stayed at my home in Denver for an overnight visit due to an appointment the following day.  We had supper, we laughed and talked. When I woke up the next morning he was already gone to his appointment,  but he left the most thoughtful note that made me tear up then and now. He told me how I will always be a part of the Mohrman family.  How grateful he was to stay at my home and made sure to let me know what a beautiful family I had started to build. 

Lee made sure to spread kindness.  He taught me a lot that day especially.  That little things are big things to someone else.  That showing appreciation plants a seed to more kind gestures.  

I know that if I would have ever needed anything,  he would have been 1st in line, not just for me,  but for anyone.  

The world lost and heaven gained a big teddy bear.  

Thanks Lee. Thank you for everything.  

I always enjoyed spending time listening to Lee tell a story because he would say something funny and his laughter was contagious and distinctive. Will always remember his humor and that infectious smile. You will be greatly missed.

Lee always welcomed me in his home and made me feel like part of the family. I can’t help but smile when I think of his jokes and his laugh! He loved his family and others so well. I’m grateful I knew him in my growing up years and I look forward to laughing with him again in eternity one day! He will always be cherished and missed. My heart and love are with his incredible family. The legacy he left in each of them will continue to echo for generations to come.
