Linda Kay Finley

Linda was born October 30th 1956 in Cortez Colorado to Harold Harry and Betty Lee Lewis.

She spent her childhood growing up in Rico Colorado where she developed a great love for horses. She would spend hours riding and caring for her horses.

Linda met Kenneth Finley in Benhams in November 1976. Kenny was playing guitars with Linda’s Dad. It was love at first sight and they were married December 25th 1976.

Linda and Kenny had one son, Kenneth Lee Finley JR.; born February 11, 1980. In 1983 the three of them moved to Clifton Colorado where they spent their remaining years.

Linda loved working on her family tree. She would spend hours researching and typing everything up. She was not a fan of technology therefore the whole family tree was typed on a typewriter. If you had any question about anyone in the family, she was the one to ask - She could tell many wonderful stories about each member of her family.

Linda did not own any horses for many years. She did however, collect everything horse themed. It has often been said by Linda herself that she was "born in the wrong era." She would have been much happier to have been born in the Wild West.

Linda’s husband Kenny passed away September 27th 2022, exactly five months to the day before Linda passed.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband Kenny Finley, Father Harold Lewis, Mother Betty Lewis, Brother-In-Law Larry Horner and Nephew Raymond Finley III.

Surviving family includes Son, Kenneth Finley JR. of Clifton Co; Brother Edward (Bette) of Mancos CO; Sister Wanda Horner of Grand Junction, CO.; Brother Melvin (Julia) Lewis of Mancos CO.; Brother-In-Law Raymond and Sister-In-Law Glen Ellen Finley of Spring Creek Nevada. Eight nieces and nephews Karrie Ford, Suwanda Terrill, Bryan Lewis, Wade Lewis, James Horner, Jonathan Lewis, Justin, Lewis and Robin Lewis. Eighteen great nieces and nephews. Logan Utter, Kyra Logsdon, Dillon Terrill, Kensie Capraro, Nichole Franco, Chantell Ford, Brett Lewis, Kiffany Lewis, Randi Lewis, Kai’Lynn Lewis, Alexis Lewis, Brody Lewis, David Lewis, Bryan (BJ) Lewis, Benjamin Lewis and Boe Lewis.

A Funeral Service will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:30 am, followed by Interment alongside her beloved Kenneth at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado at 1:00pm
