Louise was the loving mother of three children, Karen (Phil) Rigg-Lewis of Fruita, Saul (Julie) Forster of Grand Junction, and Gib (BJ) Forster of Aspen. Her greatest commitment has been to family, friends, and faith.
Louise had a zest for life. She never wore a drab outfit, and the only thing that sparkled more than her accessories was her personality. She loved to shop, eat out, and visit with friends and family. Louise has always been on the cutting edge and willing to try something new, exciting or adventurous. She is remembered for her steadfastness and positivity.
Louise was a strong, independent woman, and one of the first female real estate agents and brokers in Grand Junction. She broke a lot of glass ceilings in real estate and was the owner and broker of Century 21 Homestead Realty. For over 50 years, through the highs and lows of the market, Louise mentored agents and was an icon of the Grand Valley business community.
Louise loved being with family and traveled from Alaska to Mexico, and everywhere in between, to see her grandchildren. Her colorful hats, jewelry, and purple outfits led to her being known as “Purple Grandma.” She was a loving grandmother to Brett, Taber, Regan, Zach, Bo, Jessica, and Dylan, and adoring great-grandmother to Skyla, Landon, Parker, River, Rockwell, Rosey, Teya, Brinley, Camden, Nori, and Kenai.
The family would like to thank her friends and neighbors for their incredible care, kindness, and compassion over the years.
There will be a graveside service held on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 11:00 am at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
