Lourdes Melgares

February 15, 1927 – April 30, 2014

Lourdes A. Melgares passed away April 30, 2014 at her Grand Junction home with her loving family by her side. She was 87.

Lourdes was born on February 15, 1927 in Capulin, Colorado from the union of Rogerio and Climaca Trujillo. She married Julian Melgares in 1946 in Alamosa, Colorado, he survives. Lourdes was a seamstress and former owner/operator of Campus One Hour Cleaners of Grand Junction. She was a resident of Grand Junction for forty years and previously lived in Sterling, Colorado. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and cooking for her family.

Lourdes leaves behind her husband of sixty-eight years; Julian Melgares of Grand Junction, Colorado, two sons; Michael (Tammy) Melgares of Grand Junction, CO, Robert (Bonnie) Melgares of Clifton, CO, two daughters; Patricia (Carl) Atencio of Algodones, New Mexico, JoAnn Melgares of Albuquerque of New Mexico, a brother; Frank Trujillo of Pueblo, CO, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Private family services will take place in Alamosa, CO at a later date.
