

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel. A luncheon will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 343 E. Ottley Ave., Fruita.
Ms. Young was a seamstress.
She is survived by two sons, Gary of Green Acres, Washington, and David of Mililani, Hawaii; one daughter, Lois White of Whitefish, Montana; 11 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Margie Young
August 6, 1923 - January 26, 2015
Margie Young, owner of Margie's Stitch and Sew in Fruita, passed on Monday the 26th of January, at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family.
Margie was born August 6, 1923, in Hedrick Iowa.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Marie Ritter; sister, Florence Rice; husband, Albert Young; infant daughter, Alberta Rae; son, Johnny Young; daughter-in-law, Lynne Young, and grandson, Adam White.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church, and was Confirmed in the church her great-grandfather helped build.
Margie is survived by her son, Gary of Spokane, Washington; son, David (Lilly) Young of Mililani, Hawaii, and daughter, Lois (Wesley) White of Whitefish, Montana; 11 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Margie adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In 1946, she and Albert moved from Iowa to Clifton to farm and in 1952, they purchased their farm on 17 Road north of Fruita. Margie volunteered for 60 years at the Fruita Thrift Shop. In 1974 she opened her seamstress shop on Mulberry Street and in 2011 she moved her shop to her home on Coulson Street. Margie loved to sew and she did everything imaginable from wedding gowns and prom dresses to the Santa hat for Greta the Dinosaur in Circle Park. She considered everyone who walked through her door a new friend. Sewing for others was what she loved and she spent Saturday morning sewing before she was admitted to the hospital in the afternoon.
