Marta Lazo Delgado passed away the morning of 6/14/2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction Colorado at the age of 77. She was born in California to her Parents Consuelo and Manuel and she was the eldest of 8 children.
Marta believed in her personal growth and spirituality and was always striving for a better connection to the universe and the Great Spirit. Making any connection she had with others a spiritual connection. She loved music, art and the pursuit of a higher awareness. She was always open about her journey with others that were eager to find a connection to their own spiritual growth. She lived by example; she walked her talk without hesitation or fear. She was the ultimate peaceful warrior. She walked in beauty and lived life like the Hummingbird; colorful and dainty a symbol of joy, love and healing. All demonstrated by her ability to adapt and rise above the challenges of her own declining health.
Marta was and administrative assistant that held many roles some with very high security classifications for Standford Research Institute. However, her greatest joy came from working as a Librarian for Lincoln Elementary and later for the Dual Emersion Academy for School District 51, that she later retired from.
Marta is survived by her life partner Daniel Murrillo, her twin daughters; Luna Parsons her husband Robert Parsons and Estrellita Martinez. Her grandchildren; Mateo Parsons, Noah Parsons and Janae Parsons. She has five surviving siblings; Etta Caviler, Frank Contreras, Diana Contreras, Rosemary Contreras and Larry Contreras.
