Michael Glen Lightfoot

Born on December 4, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas to William Travis and Letha Francis Lightfoot. He was raised in the Baptist Church and was a Christian.

Michael lived an attended school in Floydada, Texas. He married Bonnie Isbell on November 15, 1972 and they shared a lifetime together (52 years). They had two sons, Michael Brandon and William Brian (deceased); 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Michael began his career in the natural gas and oil industry in Texas. He later worked in Oklahoma and then moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1987, where he and his partner owned Mesa Fields Services. Michael worked in the industry for 47 years and retired in 2017.

Michael loved to be around people. If he had something and he met someone in need, he would freely give them what he had. He had a dynamic personality and few who met him forgot him.

Michael was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was often heard to say “I may not have been the best husband or the best father, but I am the greatest Papa.”

He loved to play golf, go fishing, restoring old hot rods, and riding motorcycles.

Michael was a devoted son, husband, father, Papa and friend. He will live on in our hearts and in the reliving of all the memories we hold dear.

Michael is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lightfoot; sister, Nita Carmack and sons; his brothers children; his son, Brandon (Nakeda) Lightfoot; granddaughter, Madeline Lightfoot (Diego Alejandre); great-granddaughter, Xiomara Alejandre; grandsons, Charles Green (Sammi Moyano) and Daniel Duke (Aspen Waltz); great-grandchildren, Grace, Faith, Ivy and Olive; granddaughter, Kathleen Duke (Dominic Tayfoya); great-granddaughter, Isla; grandson, Michael Aldon Lightfoot; granddaughter, Dalany Roberts (Justin Roberts); great-grandson, Shep Roberts; granddaughter, Morgun Lightfoot, and great-granddaughter Aliyah (Jonathan Jones and son, Eli).

A memorial service for Michael will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Callahan Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, Colorado 81505.
