eventually moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1979. She attended Central High
School, followed by a year of schooling at Mesa College. Michele married Jim Blasdel in Fruita, Colorado, where they lived together for 44 years on their family farm.
Michele loved to work in the food pantry and volunteer for Vacation Bible School at Palisade Church of the Nazarene. In addition to wearing a multitude of hats at Bluegrass Farms, Michele served as the manager of Enstrom Candies in Fruita. She also loved working in the cafeterias of District 51 schools, and she mastered the art of raising gladiolas as well as contributed to the production of a variety of agricultural products. Inspired by ten years of operating her own pumpkin patch, Michele published a children’s story titled The Great Pumpkin Adventure, a contemporary fictional account of her kids, Jennifer and James, and all of their cousins.
While Michele held various jobs throughout her life, the most important was that of
being a mother! Everything she did, she did for her children. But her most precious
talents were reserved for being the grandma to Kennedy Marie.
Michele is survived by her husband, James Glen Blasdel; parents, Joan and Willis
Kennedy Sr.; daughter, Jennifer Marie (Tyler) Wortman; son, James Wyatt Blasdel;
sister, Julie (Tom) Foral; brothers, Matthew Kennedy and Willis Kennedy Jr.;
granddaughter, Kennedy Marie Wortman; and many nieces and nephews whom she
loved very much.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinMortuary.com for the Blasdel family.
