

Mildred "Marie" Wood June 12, 1932 – October 10, 2011 Marie Wood passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at Family Health West in Fruita, Colorado. She was a realtor, a job she enjoyed very much. Mildred was born June 12, 1932 from the union of Arthur and Mildred Hansen LeBeau in Jersey City, New Jersey. Marie spent her childhood in Hackensack, New Jersey graduating from Hackensack High School. She married Thomas G. Wood on August 9, 1952 in New Jersey. They settled in Waldwick, New Jersey and raised their family there. Tom died suddenly on December 28, 1977 at a very young age. Several years later, she began a new life and adventure moving her family to Louisville, Colorado where she enjoyed the beauty and majesty of the Rockies. She took up skiing and went camping with her family. Her adventures in life would continue as several years later she moved to Florida. She met Anthony Cohill there and they married later in Englewood, Florida. They enjoyed many happy years boating, fishing and traveling together. Tony passed away in 2005. Her final journey led her back to Colorado in 2010, where she spent her final days in Fruita. Marie enjoyed traveling, boating and making special meals for her family. Marie is the Past Worthy Matron of Fortitude Chapter # 161, Order of the Eastern Star in Ramsey, New Jersey. Marie leaves behind one son, Robert (Mary) Wood of Covington, Georgia; two daughters, Valerie Cates (Rick) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Lauren White (Bob) of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; Alyssa of Covington, Georgia; Jennifer, Thomas, and Erin of Virginia, and great-grandson, Matthew of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Wood. A private family service will be held at a later date. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
