Mose H. ""Jay"" Goodman, Jr.
November 17, 1922 - January 4, 2014
Jay Goodman peacefully joined our Lord on January 4, 2014.
Jay was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas with two older brothers and younger twin sisters. In 1942, he joined the Navy and proudly served his country working as a gunnery trainer during WWII. While stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas he fell in love and married Navy Wave Patricia Stuart.
After the war, his professional life allowed Jay and his family to live and explore a number of western states. This included 20 wonderful years in Hawaii working as a district sales manager for an architectural aluminum company. In 1997 Jay and Pat moved to Grand Junction, CO to be closer to family.
Jay was a man of many talents and unlimited energy. If he wasn't remodeling his home or landscaping a yard, you would find him fishing, camping, doing wood work or stained glass, or watching the Broncos.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Pat and his three children, Mike Goodman (Mary) of Santa Rosa, CA; Cindy Murray (Mike) of Grand Junction, CO, and Patrick Goodman (Bonnie) of Taiwan. Jay was blessed with seven adoring grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jay's family would like to thank all the wonderful people who provided such loving care to him these last ten months. A special thanks goes to Rev. Hollis Wright, Rev. Lee Wyman and the staff at Mesa Manor, Harden Hospice, and Dr. Stelmach's office. His family would also like to thank all of our friends for their love and support.
A private celebration of life will be held in Jay's honor in the near future.
