Patricia Pillow

Patricia Pillow was born on April 26, 1933, in Hessle, England, to Iris and Michael Groves. A proud Yorkshire woman, Patricia carried her roots with her wherever life took her.

As a young woman, Patricia answered a job advertisement she found in the newspaper, which led her to Tripoli, Libya, where she worked for the U.S. Air Force. It was there that she met her husband, Sydney Pillow. Married in 1958, they began a life together defined by love and passion for travel.

In 1959, Patricia and Sydney welcomed their first child, Mark, in England. The family later moved to Texas, where their second child, Robyn, and third child, Brett, were born. Following Sydney’s career, the family moved all across the globe, including time spent living in Scotland, Brazil, and Liberia, West Africa.

Eventually, the family settled in The Woodlands, Texas, where they were among the area’s original residents, spending 35 happy years. Following Sydney’s passing in September 2004, Patricia moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to be closer to family, where she lived from 2007 to 2021. During her years there, she substitute taught Tai Chi and volunteered at the hospital.

In her later years, Patricia followed her family to Grand Junction, Colorado. There, she embraced Pilates and found great joy in sitting by the lake, contentedly watching the ducks and savoring life’s quiet moments.

Patricia adored all animals, especially cats, and delighted in travel, riding her bike, wellness, and the simple pleasures of everyday life—a hot cup of tea, a lovely dessert, meaningful conversation, and moments of stillness. Elegant, impeccably dressed, and beautifully spoken, Patricia carried herself with confidence and grace. Once you met Patricia, you never forgot her.

Patricia passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at the age of 92. She is survived by her three children, four grandchildren—Megan, Kathryn, Jessica, and Luke—her beloved cat Teddy, and a wide circle of friends and loved ones across the world who will forever love and miss her.
