

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was an outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons, Stephen of Grand Junction and James of Denver; three daughters, Alissa McCoy of Santa Rosa, California, Elena Sayers of Thornton and Trish Martinez of Arvada; two brothers, Julian of Fruita and Jim of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Rose Atencio of Fruita and Trini Montoya of Denver; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jose Paul Lopez
January 4, 1944 – March 16, 2017
Paul Lopez passed away suddenly on March 16, 2017, while fishing in the Rifle Gap area.
Paul, a longtime Fruita and Grand Junction resident, was born on Jan. 4, 1944 in Rosa, New Mexico to Manuel and Manuelita (Gallegos) Lopez.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Garduno Lopez, and children, Alissa (Mat) McCoy, Santa Rosa, CA, Elena (Tamboura) Sayers, Thornton, CO, Stephen Lopez, Grand Jct. CO, James (Yolanda) Lopez, Denver, CO and Trish (Joe) Martinez, Arvada, CO, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Julian (Judy) Lopez, Fruita, CO and Jim (Patti) Lopez, Colorado Springs, CO, sisters Rose (Luis) Atencio and Trini Montoya.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Ali Lopez and Anthony Lopez, brothers Johnny Lopez and Don Lopez, sister Faye Romero and great-granddaughter Za’Riyah Lobato.
Quite the outdoorsman- he loved to fish, hike and garden. He always looked forward to spending time with family and seeing all of his grandkids and great grandkids.
A vigil and rosary will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10 am.
