Philip was born in Peoria, IL on February 15, 1939 and eventually moved as a child with his family to Crawford, NE from where he would also graduate high school. He served in the post-Korean War Navy as an aircraft electrician. In 1969 he married Anna Elisabeth Heuser. Soon after, his only child, Henry was born. He worked as a miner at Climax Molybdenum mine in Leadville until the early 1980s. Following employment, Philip moved his family to Rifle where he worked as a mine equipment operator. With another move to Winnemucca, NV he continued working in gold mining finally retiring in 2004 in Clifton, CO. After contending with dementia for several years, he passed peacefully on October 2, 2020.
