She grew up in Illinois and has lived in Grand Junction for the past 16 years. She is a member of United Methodist Church, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). Phyllis loved dancing and socializing at the Moose Lodge, the Elks Club, and the Eagles Club.
She is survived by her spouse of 49 years, Richard Zell; sons, Keith Davis of Natrona Heights, PA, Christopher Davis of Twinsburg, OH, and Richard David Zell of Lake Villa, IL; brother, Joseph Morton of Mountain Home, ID; sister, Barbara Riipi of Zion, IL; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by sons, Thomas J. Davis and Bruce Davis; daughter, Deborah Young; and sisters, Dorothy, Margaret, Shirley, and Connie.
Inurnment will take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1pm. A celebration of life will be on November 19th at the Moose Lodge, 567 25 ½ Road, Grand Junction with dinner at 6pm and dancing to follow at 7pm.
