Phyllis Vickers McClelland
September 15, 1923 - July 4, 2014
On July 4, 2014, Phyllis Jean (Vickers) McClelland left us.
Among us are her daughter, Barbara and four sons, eldest, Roger, Glenn, Charles and Jeffrey; her four sisters and a brother; her seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis joined us on September 15, 1923, in Hoxie, Kansas. She married Clarence McClelland on November 15, 1943, in a small, private ceremony in Seattle. After the war they moved back to Studley, Kansas where they raised their five children. They lived in Longview, Texas from 1974 to 1990, when they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado.
She has left to be with her beloved husband, Clarence. We all bid her a fond farewell and wish her peace. To all of us who have lost her, all comfort that she would lend were she here to do so. May she be forever blessed in heart and mind and memory.
Services will be held in Grand Junction, CO on July 8, 2014, at the Calvary Baptist Church at 629 27 ½ Road at 2:00 p.m. An additional memorial service will be held in Studley, Kansas at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Monday, July 14, at 10:00 a.m.
