Services will be at 3 p.m. May 23 at Two Rivers Winery, 2087 Broadway in Grand Junction.

Ms. Pool was a medical technologist.

She is survived by three daughters, Heather Poovey of Grand Junction, and Gretchen Gregg and Emily Lintott, both of Fruita; one sister, Marlo Carson of Cleveland, Tennessee; and seven grandchildren.

Phyllis Kay Pool

April 24, 1943 - April 9, 2015

Phyllis Kay Pool, 72, of Grand Junction, Colorado died at her home on April 9th, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pool, also of Grand Junction.

Phyllis was born and raised in Moline, Illinois. She moved to Greeley, Colorado to attend college, focusing on a degree in chemistry. Phyllis and Jim eventually settled in the Grand Valley in 1975, and Phyllis accepted a position at Family Health West Hospital in Fruita, Colorado. She worked as a medical technologist and lab director for the hospital for over 35 years. She was extremely proud of her accomplishments at Family Health West and was honored to serve the Fruita community.

Throughout her life, and into retirement, Phyllis enjoyed adventure after adventure, traveling the world. She never tired of the natural beauty of Colorado and spent many, many days on the water doing what she loved most, fly fishing. Phyllis also enjoyed gardening, reading, painting, and was active in the local Trout Unlimited chapter.

Phyllis is survived by her sister, Marlo Carson of Cleveland, Tennessee; her three daughters, Heather (John) Poovey of Grand Junction; Gretchen (Shawn) Gregg, and Emily (John) Lintott, both of Fruita, and seven grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, James, Lennea, Ellie, Josie, and Rosie.
