

Preston Lee Martin of Fruita, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on February 11th, 2025 at the age of 30. He was born on December 18th, 1994, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lorrie Etenburn (Hawkins) and Brian Martin.
He graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 2013 and enlisted into the military shortly after. During his time he became a 15T, UH -60 Black Hawk repairer and crewchief in the United States Army.
After being honorably discharged he had taken up many trades over the years that he enjoyed learning, including: cell tower work, pipe lining, private security, and most recently he graduated in December with his welding and fabrication certification. He was looking forward to getting his business up and running in the Denver area; Martin Welding and Fabrication.
Preston enjoyed riding dirt bikes, playing his Xbox, spending time with friends and family, and most importantly being “Dada” to his son, Maximus.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Preston, then you know that he was always a listening ear and a big protector of those he loved. He took pride in serving his country, and had a big spot in his heart for all of his battle buddies he made along the way.
Preston is survived by his son, Maximus Lee Graham Martin, his mother, Lorrie (Bill) Etenburn, his sister, Samantha Bills, his nephew, Jayce Lake, his Father, Brian Martin, Uncle Bill (Kristi) Hawkins, Uncle Ed (Giggi) Wetz, Aunt Debbie Hawkins, Aunt Tina (Rick) Viar, Aunt Becky (Donnie) Veale, Cousin, Nathan Martin, Uncle Michael (Jenny) Martin, Cousin, Matthew Martin, Aunt Natalie (Chris) Parker, and numerous extended family.
He is preceded in death by his Granny, Papaw, Aunt Deborah, Grandpa Jack, Grandma JoAnn, and Uncle Jason.
Funeral arrangements and services are provided by Callahan-Edfast Mortuary & Crematory at 2515 Patterson Road in Grand Junction, Colorado. Services will be held on March 1st, 2025 at 11:00 am at Callahan-Edfast and reception to follow at 1:00 pm at the VFW Post 1247 located at 1404 Ute Avenue in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Graveside services will be held on a later date at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
