Ralph S. Pacini

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with services at 11 a.m. Interment will be 10 a.m, Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Dr. Pacini was a physician.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; four sons, Bernard, David and Donald, all of Grand Junction, and Richard of Fort Collins; one sister, Violet Shoemaker of San Jose, California; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ralph Pacini passed away quietly in his own home at age 91 with his wife of 66 years at his side. He is survived by his four children, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Catherine.

Ralph was born in Chicago August 6, 1924, attended medical school at the University of Illinois, and was proud to serve in the Army Medical Corps during the Korean War. He married Ruth in 1949, and then moved his family to Grand Junction in 1961, where he served as Chief of Medicine at the VA until his retirement in 1985. He built his family cabin shortly after arriving in Colorado and enjoyed spending as much time there as possible.

Led by his strong Christian faith, following his retirement he developed a keen interest in and was a published author of ancient history, particularly as it related to the Old Testament. As a child he built his own radios, and maintained a life-long fascination with all things scientific, including an attempt to design an antigravity device. In recent years, he was particularly interested in cosmology, including the electric universe theory, young universe catastrophism, and planetary interactions.

His family and many friends all knew him as a kind and gentle Christian, loving father, grandfather, and husband.

Funeral service will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Monday, November 16 at 11am. Viewing will be from 9am to service time. Interment in Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be on Tuesday at 10am.
