Raymond Arthur Scheetz

Services will be at 10 a.m. April 11 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta.

Mr. Scheetz was an assistant postmaster.

Survivors include two sons, Gerard of Grand Junction and Dick of Florida; one daughter Maureen Pritchett of Grand Junction; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Raymond A. Scheetz, 96, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away March 29, 2017, at HopeWest Hospice. Ray was born in Delta, CO, September 5, 1920, to Edward and Martha (Dorei).

Raymond lived in Delta most of his life, farming and working the US Post Office and Bill Hellman Ford until his retirement. Some years after his retirement he moved to the Grand Junction area.

Ray is survived by sons, Gerard (Deya) of Grand Junction, and Dick (Nancy) of Florida; daughter, Maureen (Matt) Pritchett of Grand Junction; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth (Betty); sons, Dennis and Raymond Jr.; sisters, Irene Schmalz and Mildred Scheetz; and brothers, Sylvester, Ralph, Lawrence, Joseph, and Edward.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 11, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta, CO. Burial will follow at the Delta City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice, 3090 B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
