

Rex was born in Ft. Morgan Colorado to John and Nina Baker. He spent his childhood in Brush, CO. He moved to Rangely, CO where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran cross country track. He graduated from Rangely High School in 1976. He attended Yavapi AZ, CNCC, and Mesa State. He received an AA in Recreation Management. He married Ronda Dodd July 18, 1980 and they had two amazing children, Nathan and Brooke.
Rex continued to play fastpitch softball for many years while building a legacy and love of sports for his family. He worked at City Market for 27 years, Halliburton for 10 years and was currently employed at CAPCO and was looking forward to retirement. His most recent passion was golf. He spent many days golfing with friends and family. He enjoyed smoking special meats, pies, cheeses, etc. on his Traeger grill for everyone.
He drove the bus once a month for Northeast Christian Church. He loved being with his family and grandkids. They loved "Grandpa Rex." He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Ronda, son Nathan Baker (Denise) of Grand Junction CO, daughter Brooke Edwards (Bryce) of Greeley CO, mother Nina Baker, brother Rocky Baker of Grand Junction CO, and sister Terri Geerdes of Divide CO and 6 grandchildren.
His father John preceded him in death.
He was the BEST of the BEST!! LOVE you Rex. You fought the good fight to the end. We will miss you here on earth!
A Celebration of Life will be held at Northeast Christian Church 2751 Patterson, Grand Junction, CO at 11:00 a.m. January 8.
