Survivors include five sons, Robert Mike of Grand Junction, Steven of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Danny of Loveland, Rusty of Fruita and Kris of Gainsville, Georgia; one daughter, Judy Schave of Grand Junction; three sisters, Shirley Feugate of Grand Junction, Betty Lightburn of Wheat Ridge, Alice Stuart of Alma, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Robert B. Hoback passed in peace on January 3rd, 2015, at the Hope West Hospice Center. He was born on April 17, 1931, to his late parents, Lottie Perry and William H. Hoback, Sr., in Grand Junction, Colorado.He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lola, and long-time companion, Mildred Mancuso. Also preceding him in death were sisters: Agnes Talbert, Alvada Thompson, Evelyn Novinger, Phyllis Roy; and brothers: Lloyd, Ralph, William Jr., and Harold Hoback.Robert is survived by sisters: Shirley Feugate of Grand Junction; Betty Lightburn of Wheatridge, CO; Alice (Ray) Stuart of Alma, AK; and six children: Robert Mike (Rita) of Grand Junction; Steven (Vicky) of Nicholasville, KY; Danny (Barbara) of Loveland, CO; Judy (James) Schave of Grand Junction; Rusty (Rose of Fruita, CO; and Kris of Gainesville, GA. He also survived by his former wife, Edna Foster (Albert Colunga of Cumming, GA. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.Robert spent his complete life working and living in the Grand Valley. Even though he completed his career while working with heavy equipment, his real passion was the land and farming that land. He was well known for his talent of getting the most out of the soil, while spending his farming years with the Gobbo Brothers Farm and the Wayne Beede Farms. He was a hard working individual and today, had you asked him what his greatest accomplishment was in life, he would answer “doing the job and doing it well.” This he instilled into all of his children. He will always be known for his ornery and playful nature.The family wishes to thank and extend love to his daughter and son-in law, Judy and Jim Schave, and also to his sister, Shirley Feugate, for the time and love they all provided Robert for the past 11 months as his primary care givers so that he could live his final months at home. Also, they wish to thanks the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at St. Mary’s Oncology Center and at the Hope West Center for their kind care.A graveside service and interment will be held at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, North Avenue, Grand Junction, CO, at 1:00pm February 9th 2015.
