

Robert “Bob” Stringer passed away quietly at his home in Grand Junction, CO, of natural causes. He was 78 years old. Robert was born on October 11, 1935, to Bruce and Irene (McCunniff) Stringer in Montrose, CO. He spent his childhood in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School. Bob served in the Army from 1953 to 1956 in the 82nd Airborne, then entered the field of construction management. He married Betty Jenkins on December 29, 1956, in Delta, CO. Bob was a member of the New Life Church as well as the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and camping. He is preceded in death by his brother, Harrison Stringer. Bob is survived by his wife, Betty, and sons, Randy (Cindi) Stringer of Grand Junction, and Rick Stringer of Wellington, KY; brother, Raymond (Terri) Stringer of Oxford, MI; sister, Betty Clark of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, at the New Life Church with Meryl Bierman officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin Mortuary.
