

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the mortuary, with interment to follow in Basalt.
Mr. Bishop owned Bishop Trash Service.
Surivors include two daughters, Kem Piccinati of Carbondale and Julie Allmon of Silt; one sister, Martha Johnson of Monticello, Utah; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Roger W. Bishop, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend passed away on January 18, 2016, at the Eagle Ridge at Grand Valley Nursing Home in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Roger was born in Canon City, Colorado on December 21, 1939, to Owen and Mary Bishop. He grew up in the Norwood, Nucla, Naturita area and graduated in 1958, from Nucla High School. He married Charlene Proctor and they had two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth Kem and Julie Ann. Roger was also the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and three great-grand children.
Roger and his brother, Frank, owned and operated Bishop's Trash Service in the Roaring Fork Valley for many years.
He loved being a volunteer for the Basalt and El Jebel Volunteer Fire Dept. and was also one of the founding members of the Valley Cruiser Car Club. After relocating to Grand Junction, Colorado, he enjoyed being a member of the Old West Car Club. He loved showing and sharing his love of old cars and trucks with everyone.
Roger is survived by his two daughters, Kem (John) Piccinati of Carbondale, CO and Julie (Warren) Allmon of Silt, CO; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his sister, Martha Johnson of Monticello, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Owen and Mary Bishop; his sister, Mary Owen Purkey; his brother, David ""Frank"" Bishop and his grandson, Cody Wayne Curtis.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016, between 5 - 7:00 p.m.at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road in Grand Junction, Colorado. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with a graveside service following from 2:30 - 3:30 in Basalt, CO, at the Fairview Cemetery followed by a celebration gathering at the El Jebel Fire Station, 1089 J.W. Drive, El Jebel, CO.
