Roger lived, worked, and played in the Southwest, Western Slope, and Four Corners areas where he was well known by an immeasurable number of people for farming, ranching, working construction, uranium mining, driving trucks, mechanicing, fighting fires, and much more throughout the Nucla/Naturita area and beyond.
Throughout his life, Roger enjoyed everything the outdoors offered from hunting, fishing, camping, off-roading, hiking both solo and with friends and family. He worked for local companies which included Sutherland Brothers, Reams Construction Company, Tomcat Mining Group, and did various Highway Department work. Naturally, Roger had a multitude of hobbies- arts, crafts including painting, drawing, welding, leatherwork, and his ability to make friends and brighten a stranger’s day with a smirk and a hearty chuckle. Roger was 58 years old when he passed away in his sleep at his home in Naturita. Family and friends will hold a “Celebration of Life” at a location to be determined at a later date.
Roger is survived by his father, Richard Knuckles of Dove Creek, Colorado; his younger brother, Vernon Knuckles of Yellowjacket, Colorado; daughters, LaDawn Knuckles of Nucla, and Shayla Knuckles of Grand Junction; son, Roger Richard Knuckles of Billings, Montana; six grandchildren, Elijah Knuckles, Skyler Knuckles, Kimberly Kibel, Wyatt Bouchard-Knuckles, Remington Knuckles, Ariella Knuckles, and Aubree Knuckles; two great-grandchildren, John Wayne Knuckles and Lilas Knuckles; and many other friends and family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinMortuary.com for the Knuckles family.
