Shirley M. Kent

Shirley Marie Kent passed away on November 20, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was 85 years old.

Shirley was born to Edmund and Odeal Adams in Marshalltown, Iowa on April 29, 1928. Her family soon moved to Denver, Colorado where she attended school and would eventually meet Charles Larry Kent. Larry and Shirley married in 1953 and had two children. The family moved to San Jose, California in 1965 and lived there until the final move to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1990. Shirley loved her home here in Grand Junction and enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, and spending time with family.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Larry. She is survived by her son Steve (Mele) Kent of San Jose, California, and her daughter Cindy (Phil) Cook of Grand Junction, Colorado, as well as 5 grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11AM, Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colorado. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
